The Black Hole of Ryze
Sadly more than 50% of new Ryze members end up in the "Black Hole". Here's how to fail in one lesson. Follow the crowd and do nothing. Here's what happens.
- You did not come to Ryze on an invitation, so you have no "friends", yet.
- Ryze tells you to join some networks. You don't know the networks, so you do nothing.
- You are listed as a Ryze New Member. That lasts for about 48 hours. A few hundred Network Leaders can "see" you.
- Network leaders usually ignore newbies. You need to show you've got what it takes.
- I'm no different. I only contact people who bother to put some detail on their page.
- If you somehow drew attention to yourself, one or more of the network leaders took time to contact you.
- Good network leaders will recommend a network of two. They will encourage you to join
- Typically newbies do nothing, once again. (That's twice.)
Join LOTS of networks. Do I need to repeat that message?
- Spend some time. Visit the networks, and read some posts.
- Visit the Ryze pages of people who say things you are impressed by. Who is this?
- Visit the Ryze pages of the Network Leaders. They are paying members. Your visit is visible to them.
- If you can leave some Guest Book entries.
If you visit the network leaders Ryze page.
- Network leaders can "see" who visited their Ryze pages. You remain visible to that ONE person for seven days.
- I do try to visit the pages of people who visited my Ryze page. I tell them to "Join some networks".
- Some people are really slow. They DO nothing again. (That's the third time.)
- They are GONE; into the "Black Hole" where uncoachable people can enjoy peace an quiet.
This sad state of affairs is entirely avoidable. It's simple. Join some networks, and the more the better. (up to 60)
GOT IT?
A couple of extra Ryze tips.
Complete your Ryze page.
There is a need to explain to other people who you are and what you are interested in. Nobody wants to read your "advertisement" so don't start there. Just write a few simple interesting lines about yourself. A photo or two (not too large) would be nice.
If you can't do that you can't expect to succeed.
Find ways to be helpful and useful to other people.
In the networks, look for things that interest you, and try to find ways to add information or value for other network members. Be useful. Contribute something. That will attract people to your Ryze page. They will read what you wrote about yourself. They will contact you if you made yourself interesting and approachable.
Now can you prove that you are coachable, Here is a "Free Pass" to using Ryze as a non-paying member.
